The difference between “chocolate” and “candy” is fundamental in understanding Scarlata. Highly processed raw materials, preservatives, and excess sugar are the ingredients of “candy.” Only when you strip away all these unnecessary items can you fully appreciate the nuances of “chocolate.” Our products are made gluten free, with organic ingredients whenever possible. Our cacao is always fairly traded and sustainably sourced. We go light on the sugar. Scarlata is “Untamed Chocolate:” Free from barriers, and allowed to exist as it was meant to.
When you purchase chocolate from Scarlata, you’re supporting a local small business and more. In addition to creating unique, bold chocolate offerings, we’re supporting our community. We donate our premium chocolates to NARAL pro-choice and Star of Hope for auction, as well as individuals at halfway houses and re-entry programs. We also have an equal opportunity hiring policy for people with criminal backgrounds, because we believe that people deserve second chances. While we don’t have a brick and mortar storefront, you can find our products at boutiques and wineries around Seattle. You can also find us at local craft shows, festivals, and chocolate & wine pairings with local wineries (events). Don’t want to leave your house? That’s fine too: We ship across the country. You can even have a different box of mixed truffles shipped every month with our Pandora’s Box option! We also supply delicious event favors, and full-service corporate gift options.
